The holy month of Muharram will begin on September 22 according to a calendar draw up by the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), APA reported.
According to the calendar, the tenth of Muharram (the Day of Ashura) will be commemorated on October 1.
It is noted that Ashura commemorative events should be held in mosques, as well as in specially designated places for this.
The Gazi Council of the Caucasian Muslims Office will issue a fatwa in connection with this.
The event of Ghadir-khumm will be celebrated on September 9.
